Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics trainer who became Comaneci's coach later in life found her around the age of six. The first time she competed at the junior national championships in 1969 and finished 13th. She was the winner in 1970. At her first international event in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. The athlete won four golds and one silver in her first international competition for seniors, held in 1975. This was the first time she competed as an adult. She was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics and became the first woman ever to remove the parallel bars with backwards double salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She started her career in the entertainment industry during her teenage years performing as the figure skating duo of the sibling Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry in her teens. Early on Carol was an ice figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows were ice skating performances that were followed by musical performances.
