April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4th, 1995. In seventh grade she began playing the guitar as well as taking piano lessons, sparking her interest in music writing. When she was 12 years old, April wrote her first song Different. The singer spent much of her time when she was 14 writing songs and practicing the piano. Soon, April began to take trips in NY and LA along with her dad in order for them both compose songs. April was also able to add other themes in the song "Take My Hand" to help her acquaintances who faced problems like peer pressure, disabilities, and even teenage suicide. Lockhart has become a sought-after lifestyle influencer as well as working in partnerships with clean beauty brands Ilia, has built her own fan base. The disability she has is part of her persona, however it's not all of the image. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't conceal her status as disabled, but neither does it concentrate on the fact that she is disabled. What message is it sending? The message? That we have many different aspects, that our identity and physical bodies aren't what they appear. Lockhart through a video message sent from her Nashville home, states that I don't wish for that to be a part of my character. I am far more than just my physical self. And it doesn't affect my daily life. I conduct everything normally and I've found my own way to adjust the things. It's also part of me so I think it's essential to discuss. Lockhart, a real source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting, is on a long process to attain it. Still, she admits that she went through phases in her life with her physique, feeling uneasy in some instances to wear clothes that showed the arms of her. She wears whatever she wants and is proud to post pictures of herself wearing the clothes she wears on social platforms.
